The following is a side story of the Bruno X epic, which will lay out some key points to be remembered in the future.

FADE IN:

EUPHENIA'S MARSH - NIGHT

A young man is riding his horse through the dirt path, seemingly tired from a long journey. Donning a long brown trenchcoat and a matching top hat go with it, the man, Sir Daniel Skye, is holding on to a stuffed bear with a blue bow on it. The storm is chasing him and eventually the horse is running as fast as possible. Neither of them have any concern for any other obstacles in their path. Despite their efforts to beat the storm, their path was interrupted by a lighting bolt hitting the middle of the road. Scared, the horse cries and Skye falls off of his steed, rolling down a hill with the bear still in his hands, hitting the trees along. With several broken bones in his body, he wakes up, lying on the ground in front of a girl with black hair and what seems to be a purple Victorian-styled dress. The rain is pouring as hard as ever and the girl offers him help in standing up. As Sir Daniel takes her hand, his wounds are healed in instant.

Sir Daniel: I could not thank you enough. My daughter and wife are waiting--

She kisses him on the lips. No more words are exchanged and she slowly moves her lips away from him. Surprised, he backs away swiftly.

Sir Daniel: I'm married and I have my own family. I can't do such lewd things with you.

His body is paralyzed entirely as she approaches him with motives unknown. His back has a shiver running down his entire back.

Selena: But I'm here now... your wife can wait... I love you, Sir Daniel of the 14th Sovereign.

Sir Daniel: But... how did you...

The realization that his life is in danger sends a shock to all his nerves, the miracle in regaining control of his entire body. The night sky begins to clear and the moon, appearing much larger than usual, illuminates the forest.

Sir Daniel: You--- you stay away from me, you wench! I thought you were just a curse! A fairy tale!

Daniel opens up what looks to be a book and it glows a bright yellow, and he gets himself back up from falling. He sees the horse running away due to the woman’s corrupted soul. He extends his hands and the root from the trees surrounding him attack her from all different angles. However, they disintegrate when they reach her arms. She disappears and re-appears behind him, sending a swift kick to his tailbone. He is seen rolling on the ground, the book closing itself. He’s in immense pain and you can see him losing strength.

Selena: You have nothing to worry about, my dearest. You make yourself much more delicious when you fight back.

The Moon turns red.

Sir Daniel (in thought): This is unfortunately my end. I can’t feel... anything...

Selena raises her left hand, and when it glows red, Daniel is instantly tied up by the roots. They are holding him not too high up in the air, so that he and Selena are the same height. She punches him in the stomach a few times, before he coughs up blood, his breathing getting heavier after each punch.

Sir Daniel (CONT’D) (in thought, losing energy): But... in one last attempt... if I can save ... them from ...

He closes his eyes and book is glowing once more. This time, the book is sent into the sky like a shooting rocket and then into the stars, its location presumed to be somewhere far, far away. She smiles and laughs a small laugh.

Selena (getting hornier): I’m honored that you men think of me as the same - a succubus, the Moon of Emiko... it really does get me going...

She holds his head upwards, as if ready to kiss him on the lips.

Sir Daniel (in thought): I’m sorry, Gwen. It doesn’t look like I’ll be able to walk you... down the aisle... Protect your mother... the curse is real...

He can see his life flashing before his eyes, from various scenes of him carrying his blue-haired daughter, Gwen, at eight years old, to receiving a witch’s hat on her eleventh birthday, to teaching her simple magic tricks like animating still objects like bed sheets and dishes. The white light gets brighter and eventually fades to black.

Sir Daniel (CONT’D): Everything has been prepared for... While there is... life... there is...

It’s safe to assume at this point Sir Daniel Skye is no longer alive.

Selena: Your worries will soon be over... I will be yours, and you will be mine... forever...

She resumes to kiss him even more. The Moon shines brightly above the two of them, becoming a more crimson than before. As the girl wraps herself around him, they are engulfed in a large rose bud that quickly explodes into a million rose pedals that float away into the sky. The weather clears up, and neither Daniel nor Selena are in sight. There is, however, a medium-sized puddle of blood, and Maria Beatrix, another lady magician, seen in a Victorian-era dress like Selena's, except this time pink and white and her hair is blonde, rushes to the scene. She sees the blood splatter and closes her eyes. The blood glows, and much to her dismay, she has this look on her face as if is just waking up fresh from an undoubtedly dreadful nightmare that will cause an immeasurable fear of falling back to sleep. The bear is drenched in it. She falls to the ground, only being held up by her arms, breathing heavily. She almost vomits.

Maria (mortified): Not you, too...

She hugs the bear and has a moment of silence for her fallen comrade. It begins to rain.

Fast forward to seven years later. We hear the voice of a young woman. She appears to be in a witch’s gown, with black-and-white striped socks and a black hat. She has blue hair, magenta eyes and a hexagram necklace. Her name is Gwendolyn Skye. She stands outside a large mansion on top of a mountain. The Moon is shining brightly above them. She has a panoramic view of her hometown. This is Sir Daniel's daughter, grown up.

Aurora (V.O.): You are going to turn around and get back in here, young lady!

Gwen: I told you! Dad wouldn’t just randomly disappear like that for twenty years! That’s just unacceptable! It's my 20th birthday.

Her mother, Aurora Skye-Milan, is in a red long Victorian dress, her lighter blue hair tied in a bun. She has her hands in a washcloth and a dirty dish.

Aurora: Your father left us for some young harlot! Why is that so hard for you to understand?! Men are pigs, and I don't want your time being wasted in vain.

She sees a book in Gwen’s hand. It's covered in dust and there's a symbol on it, representing the Order of the Holy Crescent.

Aurora (CONT’D): Where did you get that book?! You give that book back to me right this instant.

Gwen: I'm sorry, mother, but I refuse. When I found it, I instantly knew that Father didn't give up on us. It doesn't make sense and I will prove you wrong! I will bring him back home!

Gwendolyn gives her a kiss on the cheek and begins her journey.

Gwen (her voice fading): I’ll be meeting up with my friend Elizabeth very soon!!!

Aurora watches her running towards the city. A genuine look of fear is shrouding her face.

Aurora: Is there no way your mother can protect you from the truth?

Rewind back seven years. We see Daniel getting ready to leave the household and a younger Aurora putting on his coat.

Young Aurora: They should have sent someone else for this task!

Sir Daniel: I wish they did, but as a member of the Fourteenth Sovereign I must tend to this responsibility. It has been within our group that we must handle any activity that the normal vigilantes aren’t capable of controlling. A lot of speculation is going around stating that this "Moon of Emiko" is the reason many married men have suddenly disappeared; and out of everyone in the Sovereign, I’m the strongest user of the Holy Crescent Magic that can combat this.

Young Aurora: Please, be careful. Gwen’s birthday is soon. Did you--

Sir Daniel: Of course. It’s our daughter’s birthday. I promise I will not be gone for long. Her gift is my horse. I plan on leaving the Sovereign when I return.

They share a kiss on the lips and she watches him leave with his horse.

Resume to present time.

Aurora: The Moon had turned red, and I knew... (beginning to cry) ... I knew you were not coming home... and knowing she’s going to try to find you...

She’s cries more and closes the door.

It sounded powerful, but it was a little confusing. Like are the two witches on the mountain the mother and daughter waiting for him that were mentioned earlier in the story? And the little girl who starts kissing him...kind of seems confusing and out of nowhere. And the fact that he doesn't seem to mind being kissed by a total stranger...especially when married...seems kinda creepy I guess. But it does seem powerful like I said, and I'm sure it will be more so as it progresses. Just try to be a little more clear and specific for your readers in future chapters.
